Family Violin
This violin has no labels or identifying marks. It was probably made by a very good amature in the 1920s or 30s. These are the conclusions made by our luthiery from the evidence in materials used and quality of workmanship.
This violin has a beautiful one piece back, nice varnish, detailed bee stings and nice matching hardware. If you are really searching for flaws there is a scratch at the tail piece and a tiny patch on the top where a gouge in the spruce was repaired. That was not done here.
We installed the pretty new hardware and a set of Dominant strings. The violin was set up properly and has a beautiful sound.
This is the violin that we have chosen to keep in memory of Mario. It is not for sale. However we did have it valued and we will share that with you.
