Guarnerius copy Violin- For Sale

Submitted by admin on Wed, 02/13/2008 - 19:10.

Inside the violin the printing is

"Andreas Guarnerius fecit Cremona"

"sub titulo.   Santa Teresia 1715"

Like most of the violins in this collection it is dated to the turn of the century and probably made in Germany at the turn of the century.

This violin was a very rewarding project.  This violin was transformed.  It turned from an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan. It has many new parts including the bridge, sound post, tuning pegs, chin rest, tail piece and end piece.  It also has a new ebony fingerboard, nut and a new set of Dominant strings.

The sound of the violin is definitely that of a Guarnerius model violin.  It does not just have a big sound, it has a huge sound.  It is recommended that it be played in a big room and with a nice bow.  Notes resonate for 3 to 5 seconds.  It is not quite a concert level violin but it is for a high caliber player such as a teacher or someone who enjoys playing a beautiful instrument for others in a situation such as a youth orchestra or a church orchestra.

A buyer can add personal touches and value to this violin by upgrading the hardware to the more expensive and showier hardware. You could also upgrade the strings to Obligato or even higher to get an even better sound and more value. That could be done here or you can have your own luthiery do this.

If you are interested in purchasing a violin you can send me a message using the contact us form. I prefer to use Paypal for the transaction. Paypal is capable of accepting all major credit cards.
