How to Buy a Violin from the Collection

All of the violins in the Mario Cesare collection are in excellent shape and all except one are for sale. You can see that we have had some success in selling some of the instruments and none have ever been returned as unsatisfactory. So what is the process to buy one of these fine violins???

First question to address is whether you are close enough to us to come and physically inspect the violins. If you are we can set up an appointment and I usually set out 5 violins in the price range that you can afford. You come and play them. Bring your teacher or an experienced violinst who can help you choose a violin that is best suited to you.

Then you choose your violin or you go home and take a week or months to close the deal in your mind. Once you know what you want we make arrangements for payment and then I give you the violin you chose. My favorite method of payment for violins is that I send an invoice from Paypal. Then it can be paid with a credit card on line...you do not have to be a Paypal member. I like it because it allows secure payment for me and for you the buyer, you have buyer protection from Paypal. So I have to be a responsible seller so that you are a satisfied customer.

60% of our customers so far have been those who have come to see the violins. The other 40% have been on-line customers. From this I feel that my factual descriptions are precise about the violin for sale. Our luthier Geza Burghardt, is another very good reason for our success. His workmanship is precise, meticulous, correct and the results are violins that play to the best of their capacity. His appraisals are fair and if anything customers feel that their violins are more than full value for the price.

Violins are more suited to this sort of purchase than you might think. The children's sizes are especially suited as are the lower priced student violins. Once you get into the violins valued at over $2800, personal preference of the sound becomes a factor. Anything over that is a very, very nice violin to play. Each may sound a little different from one another but all are very nice violins. After $10,000 it is another level where you wouldn't go unless you are an expert violinist surrounded by other excellent violinists.

I have to restate that our luthier's capacity to price these violins was amazingly accurate. You truly can hear the difference between violins that are even $100 difference in price. The difference is subtle but it is there.

Once you are confident that you have a violin or two that you are serious about, go to the contact form and send us an e-mail. We can go back and forth on the e-mail or talk on the telephone to bring the deal to a close. We can settle on the final price, shipping costs and any other details.

Then you can either close the deal at the Paypal button on the URL for your violin or we can simply send you a Paypal invoice that includes the final price for the final product(s).

Paypal payments clear quickly so shipping is ASAP once the money is in the account. Shipping is by ground as air shipments may or may not be in pressurized holds. In unpressurized holds, stress can be put on the top of the violin that can result in sound post cracks and that is the last thing we want. We e-mail you the tracking number and you can monitor its progress until it arrives at your house.

And that is how you buy a violin from the Mario Cesare Collection.
